French video game maker Ubisoft has partnered with US fitness giant Gold’s Gym to create a Gold’s Gym: Cardio Workout exercise video game designed exclusively for the Nintendo Wii. The goal of the partnership is to get more people around the world excited about exercise and fitness. The game is designed to  provide consumers with a workout that is both fun and rewarding.

Gold’s Gym: Cardio Workout will use the Wii Fit balance board with its gameplay. The game will feature heart-rate boosting versions of boxing, sit-ups, running and other exercises and will track the amount of calories burned along with changes in body weight. Also, in order to provide an authentic Gold’s Gym experience, the game will incorporate gym signage and dialogue into the game.

The game, which is due out in stores on March 31, will have an added bonus for fitness buffs who buy it: a free week-long pass to real-life Gold’s Gym facilities will be included with copies.
