Video Games sometimes have the reputation for creating passive people, couch potatoes, bumps on a log…you get the idea. With Wii sports and outdoor games, however, this is far from accurate. You no longer have to just passively watch or work with just your hands. Instead, you become part of the action, central to it.
A few years ago, Guitar Hero took the world by storm. Rock star wannabes all over the world were able to rock out to their favorite songs and learn to ‘play’ them by using a pretend guitar and pressing the colored buttons that match the notes on the screen. Everyone from teens to soccer moms to grandparents were playing Free Bird or Carry on My Wayward Son for hours, trying to advance to the next level.
